Authentic Mexican Ponche Recipe a Holiday Must!

Ponche is one of my Holiday Favorites.Some of you might already have heard or had this holiday drink or some might not know yet stay along for this Hot and Cozy Mexican Drink Recipe Vegan -Friendly Recipe you all need to try easy and fast to make.

What is Ponche?

A Traditional Mexican Hot Fruit Punch – Ponche Navideño, is a traditional hot drink during the Christmas Holidays, it is made fresh and dried fruits like tamarind, prunes, sugar cane, cinnamon, and sweetened with Piloncillo or Sugar . You can serve it with or without alcohol.

Yes you reading this right you can even pair it with your favorite Tequila or Mezcal ,In my family we call it “Con Piqute” is Delicious and Cozy Try it! Tag us on IG.

How to make Ponche?

  • Boil Water in a Stew Pot with cinnamon sticks for about 15 mins in Medium heat I used my induction stove work 100% great totally worth it
  • Once the water has boil you can start adding all the dried fruits and fresh fruits and sugar to taste ( I only use Zulka Morena Pure Cane Sugar) which is Vegan Friendly .
  • Boil it for extra 10-15 mins Medium-High heat until you see the fruits raise up and fluff up
  • Pour to your favorite Mug and Enjoy.
  • Do not forget to add the Booze to my preference will be Tequila Don Julio or Casa Azul.

Authentic Mexican Ponche Vegan-Friendly Recipe

A Traditional Mexican Hot Fruit Punch – Ponche Navideño, it is made fresh and dried fruits like tamarind, prunes, sugar cane, cinnamon, and sweetened with Sugar . You can serve it with or without alcohol.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 Quart Water
  • 2 Pieces Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Cups Guava
  • 2 Cups Sugar Cane
  • 3 Pieces Tamarindo
  • 2 oz Plums
  • 3 Apples
  • 2 Cups Tejocote
  • 2 Cups Zulka Pure Sugar cane Regular Sugar or Piloncillo can be used flavor may vary

Instructions
 

  • Boil the 8 quarts of water with the 2 pieces of cinnamon in a Stew Pot in high heat
  • If you got fresh Sugar Cane peel and cut into slim sizes and peel the tecojote (TIP) soak them in warm water and peel this will be much easier or if you want to leave the skin no problem.
  • Cut in 4-6 Pieces the Guavas & Apples
  • Once water is boil time to pour in all the Ingredients(Guava,Apple,Tamarind,Tejocote,Sugar cane,Plums & Pure cane Sugar) there is not right or wrong order when pouring them ,give a gentle stir.
  • Let it Boil for about 10-15 mins you will notice is ready when the fruit has fluff out and floating.
  • Grab your favorite Mug or Cup and Enjoy this cozy and warm Mexican Drink.
  • Lastly if give a tried with your favorite Tequila or Mezcal.
